Hey guys!
Today’s blog is about September to December, as well as a look back at 2024 - once again, our best year yet, and we take this opportunity to thank each and every one of our supporters.
To mention some of the highlights of 2024.
The band has had a great run since the beginning, but this has been a particularly amazing year, 2024 has once again been our best year yet.
We’ve been really busy these past few months, with numerous shows done in 2024 and many more scheduled for 2025, performing live in some of the best music venues and clubs in London and festivals around the UK.
Back in February, we had the second edition of our annual party with Lost Gravity, at the St Moritz Club in Soho, and it was the most amazing one yet.
The third edition is happening on Saturday Feb 8th 2025 at the same venue, which is one of the most traditional and prestigious live music venues and Soho.
We continue to work with Hot Vox, a giant in the London music industry, which has given us opportunities we had never dreamed of.
Back in March, we played at the quarter finals of the New Blood Competition, at the MacBeth in Hoxton, sponsored by HotVox, to play at the Isle Of Wight Festival!
We didn’t go to the next stage of the competition unfortunately, but it was an amazing experience for us.
The Isle of Wight Festival is a British music festival which takes place annually in Newport on the Isle of Wight, England. It was originally a counterculture event held from 1968 to 1970. The event was revived in 2002.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the Hot Vox and the Competition staff, as well as all of the other bands competing, taking was a real pleasure for us.
Fast forward to the summertime, the Thamesmead Festival returned to Southmere Park in August, and we were part of the line up on their main stage.
The festival took place in the lovely Southmere Park, with the main stage where we performed looking over Southmere Lake.
Mouthwatering culinary creativity could also be found in abundance from vendors like Yeti’s Authentic Kitchen offering the best of home-cooked Nigerian cuisine, to ZIZI’s delicious variety of Lebanese and Sierra Leonean food.
Our best and biggest show yet in terms of audience, the sheer size of the stage, the quality of the equipment we were using, the crew that was supporting us, etc. We would like to thank all those involved.
We also did one of our traditional appearances at The Good Mixer in Camden Town, a memorable show as always.
We also had the honour to perform in one of the most prestigious blues rock festivals in the UK: The Great British R&B Festival!
In the lovely town of Colne in Lancashire, in a warm August bank holiday, people flooded the streets and some of the best musicians in the UK performed the very best of rock, rhythm and blues in the several stages of the weekend long event.
We really appreciated getting to know and bond with our Northern audience, who were so supporting and welcoming to us. Thank you very much!
And last but not least we played at the Ruskin Park Bandstand Summer Festival. The park’s Bandstand Season features some of the best up and coming bands and musicians in London throughout the summer.
Ruskin Park is a beautiful and large Edwardian-era park located in London between Camberwell, Brixton and Herne Hill, the perfect place to enjoy a sunny Sunday afternoon.
And that’s when we made our appearance at the park’s bandstand, playing for a crowd of young couples, families, older gentlemen enjoying some rock n roll, and young children dancing to the sound of the drums. It was a memorable event for us.
Once summer and festival season was done, we went back to the studio.
From September to December, we spent most of that time getting all of the final details of our EP right, as we want it to be as awesome as possible for you.
As I’m sure you’ve heard, we are currently preparing our second studio release: a brand new EP, with the first single to be released within the next few months.
Our first studio album was an absolute success, with results and feedback from the public much better than expected, and if you haven't already don't forget to check it out on all digital platforms: Black Wolf Blues.
And now a couple of years later, a lot of hard work and preparation has been put into this EP, with some of the songs having been in the works for years, now finally ready to be released.
Our EP will consist of 5 songs in total, but they will be released in singles, with the first one set to be released in a few months.
Recording technology has evolved immensely in the last two decades, giving many independent artists the opportunities that once only big studios and labels could offer.
Our guitarist Jake is also a certified music producer, fresh out of one of the best music universities in London, and he will be in charge of the recording and production of our EP.
Taking all of this combined with the amazing creative output we have been getting from our new line up, and all the beautiful material that has been coming out of it, means that this EP is only the second of many releases yet to come.
One thing that really amazed me personally and that became one of the funnest parts of the whole thing was the writing and recording process.
The writing and recording process we established is better than ever! And on top of it all, the dynamic we established between us as band members during the writing process and during the planning of this recording project as a whole is something that finished closing the bonds between us as a band.
We are really excited and working on this project every single day, it will really blow your minds.
And believe it or not, considering all of the songs of the upcoming EP are already finished and mastered, we have already started working on new material, with ideas flowing in the studio and some new songs already taking shape.
We once again take this opportunity to thank all of our colleagues, partners and supporters all around the world. We also wish you a happy new year, with lots of rock, and all the best to you and yours.
As for our next show, the third edition of our annual party with Lost Gravity is happening on Saturday Feb 8th 2025 at the St Moritz Club in Soho, which is one of the most traditional and prestigious live music venues and Soho. The party starts at 8 PM, you do not want to miss out on it.
