It's that time of the week again, and today's blog is about Jake’s electric guitar recording session.

In case you hadn't heard, we are currently recording our second studio release: a brand new EP, with the first single to be released within the next few months.

Our first studio album was an absolute success, with results and feedback from the public much better than expected, and if you haven't already don't forget to check it out on all digital platforms: Black Wolf Blues.

And now a couple of years later, a lot of hard work and preparation has been put into this EP, with some of the songs having been in the works for years, now finally ready to be released.

Just to clarify for those who are not too used to the nomenclature, the only difference between an EP and an album is the number of songs, with EPs usually having up to 5/6 songs, with anything more than that being an album.

Our EP will consist of 5 songs in total, but they will be released in singles, with the first one set to be released in a couple of months. From there we will be releasing a new single every month, and with the final one our EP will be officially and fully released.

Recording technology has evolved immensely in the last two decades, giving many independent artists the opportunities that once only big studios and labels could offer.

The music industry has also changed, allowing for artists to distribute their music directly to all digital platforms accessible to anyone around the world, as well as interact directly with their fanbase online and on social media.

And in case you didn't know, our guitarist Jake is also a certified music producer, fresh out of one of the best music universities in London, he will be in charge of the recording and production of our EP.

Taking all of this combined with the amazing creative output we have been getting from our new line up, and all the beautiful material that has been coming out of it, means that this EP is only the second of many releases yet to come.

This week’s session involves Jake.

Important to say that Jake is not only an amazing guitarist but an outstanding producer as well, and as such he is in charge of production for the EP.

Let’s tell you a little bit about Jake once again.

Jake Storey is a guitarist, bassist, producer and guitar teacher from London, UK. He grew up listening to rock and metal music from a young age, being heavily inspired by bands such as AC/DC, Metallica and Guns n’ Roses.

He began teaching himself how to play the guitar from the age of 14, mixing his influences from blues musicians like Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Mayer and Joe Bonamassa with his rock and metal background. He graduated in music and guitar at BIMM London, where he honed his skills.

Shortly after finishing his music studies Jake would go on to meet frontman Rafael Miranda and join Black Wolf Blues as its lead guitar player.

He is a fan of vinyl and he loves talking about music, so if you see him at a show don't hesitate to approach him for a friendly chat.

Jake is truly a master of his craft, and his guitar recordings have come out amazing! We can’t wait to share them with you!

Check out what Jake had to say abou the sessions:

"Recording guitars have been underway this past month and the excitement is really growing!!! We can't wait to share this E.P. and what we have been working on with you!

I took a lot of time going through different pedals and settings to find something that worked and fit right in with the band sonically but something that also represents my style and influences.

Consistency was the key so I stuck with the setup for all of the songs and we have drawn a lot of influence from the bands we love such as AC/DC, Rival Sons, The Black Crowes, Metallica and more!

Watch this space as more will be revealed soon!"

One thing that really amazed me personally and that became one of the funnest parts of the whole thing was the writing and recording process.

The writing and recording process we established in this new line up is better than ever! And on top of it all, the dynamic we established between us as band members during the writing process and during the planning of this recording project as a whole is something that finished closing the bonds between us as a band.

We are really excited and working on this project every single day, it will really blow your minds.

You will naturally also get to see the artwork of the EP - which will be awesome - from the very first single, as well as the name of the EP.

As an independent band we need all the support we can get, so we are running a crowdfunding campaign to help us fund the recording of our EP and make it as awesome as possible for you!

If you'd like to contribute with any amount just head on over to our website or Linktree and you will find the link to the crowdfunding there.

We’d also like to remind you about our fundraiser for War Child UK.

War Child is the only specialist charity for children affected by wars and conflicts around the world. For more than two decades, they’ve been driven by a single goal – ensuring a safe future for every child living through war.

War Child was founded in 1993 by filmmakers David Wilson and Bill Leeson, along with social entrepreneur Willemijn Verloop. On assignment in the former Yugoslavia, they were horrified by the violence and ethnic cleansing they witnessed and especially its impact on children.

So the aim of the charity has always been to reach children as early as possible when conflict breaks out and support them long after the cameras have gone.

They deliver life-changing services and support in communities affected by conflicts to keep children safe and help them to heal and learn for the chance of a better future.

They work with a number of passionate, creative and forward-thinking partners, agencies, brands, corporates, trusts and foundations to ensure they have the greatest impact for children living through conflict.

Hot Vox in its turn is a music management, production and promotion company.

They create events that showcase talents across a full range of genres, creating a great atmosphere for both musicians and fans alike.

They also specialize in management, video production and work as consultants for branding, advertising, TV and film.

Their creative team has the expertise to cover all aspects of video production, from initial concept to the final product.

They work with established, touring acts as well as supporting up and coming musicians, giving them the opportunity to perform in great venues.

They also work closely with festivals such as the Isle Of Wight Festival and The Great Escape Festival.

And we've been lucky to be working closely with this outstanding giant in the UK entertainment industry.

And it is for the world renowned charity War Child UK, alongside Hot Vox, that we will be working on a fundraiser until Thursday Dec 14th.

From Thursday November 16th the page for our fundraiser has been live, we’ve gathered a good amount of donations so far but we still have a lot more to raise for this beautiful cause!

And as part of the campaign we are also playing several busking sessions around Central London until December 14th.

The busking sessions are free shows open to all ages, so make sure you come down and have some fun with us!

We also recorded an awesome livestream, which  happened on Thursday November 23th! This was a very special presentation available on the fundraiser page which you can find on our Linktree, so make sure you watch it and enjoy the show.
